And no one thought to tell me?!?

Huge news, people, huge.

Everyone's (okay, my) favorite cartoon characters are coming back!!!!!

People who know me may be (to put it extremely lightly) a bit surprised to hear this, but it is true. I am beyond thrilled to that this dynamic duo is back. For one, they crack. me. up. For two, I can do a mean impression of one of them (it's been so long since we've them I can't remember who it is!). I am just so so thrilled. It was ALMOST better than Snooki and Vinny last night. In fact, it may even be better, because I think Snooki may go back to Jionni. Uggh.

We'll just have to save the restaurant review for next time, because right now, I'm all about B & B baby.

Has anyone noticed...What is really strange about the new edition of the blog is it's odd focus on TV. I actually don't even watch that much, and hardly anything regularly. This blog is giving off some odd vibes about me. I'll work on that.  Swearsies.

Wow, What a Night!

In baseball world it really was a great one. I mean, I went three for three at my softball game last night. We won by two, it was an exciting game all around!!

Oh...you thought I was going to talk about the MLB? Snap, I was! Golly, it was a hoot. I just wish I could stay up a little longer... I fell asleep in the bottom of the 12th last night during the Phillies game. All those games, all those possibilities, all those nuances. It is what makes baseball so good and so exciting. The purity of the game is what does it for me. Just get out there and play ball. Every pitch counts. And, as I have grown quite fond of saying..."there's still a lot of baseball left" this year.

But I digress. Today's post was to intended pose a very important question: does TV get in the way of my life...or does life get in the way of TV? Think of Modern Family....I haven't seen any episodes of the new season yet, arrrrgh! But that is because I was playing softball the last two weeks. And I mean, I killed it last night. But then, last night, I was late to softball on account of TV. The Phillies had me hooked! Its a two way street.

Now tonight is the Jersey Shore. Vinny and Snooki!! I have only been routing for them since...SEASON 1. And I have totally amazing can't wait for it dinner plans.* The agony! Thank God for MTV constant re-runs. I wish I could say the same about Modern Family. Which, by the way, wasn't even available on-demand for me this week.

*Come back tomorrow for more!

Verdad, Bryn Mawr PA

So last night I had the pleasure of a reunion dinner of sorts with some coworkers from a previous job. It is always a hoot when the three of us get together. And we seem to gravitate towards Mexican food. And odd servers seem to gravitate towards us. Like last night's beardy-beardy man...I mean waiter.

Now I have heard very good things about the food at this particular restaurant, but that the sizes are a bit small. Even for a tapas restaurant. Add to that, it was Restaurant Week, so I was nervous about hunger.

I started with a honey margarita, which had honey (obvi), pineapple and another fruit in it. According the menu. It came out with two jalapeno slices. I don't do spicy like that. So I picked them out. When my friend ordered the same drink, Beardy called it "the honey jalapeno." The menu LIES. But without the jalapenos in it, it was darn tasty.

The food was all absolutely fantastic. I pride myself on my ordering skills, so am a little embarrassed to say this, but I think maybe I could have ordered differently. My salad for the first course was actually phenomenal (good choice). As were the scallops I chose for the second course. Both of them. It's just that....compared to the two huge, bursting-at-the-seams tacos my companions each received, my scallops paled. I mean big time. They were also really really tasty and generous with the guacamole. I wish I had gotten the tacos even despite how good the scallops were. We all went with sea bass for our final course, which was just a tad bit dry, but had good flavor. Unfortunately, overcooked dry fish is one of my biggest pet peeves...luckily it had good flavoring to save it. We opted OUT of dessert (well....I had a brownie before I left the house), and called it a successful, delicious night. For RW, it was great, and even for a normal night, it was great.

I will definitely go back to this place. With a group of about 4 to 6 and go nutty on the tapas-style menu. And avoid jalapenos in my honey margarita.

So sneaky

Pears are so sneaky. They never feel quite ripe enough and then you cut into them and realize...yikes. This is RIPE. I'd politely describe the pear I am currently eating as sub par. What a let down. This pear represents my whole day. How emo can I get?!?!

But anywhoozle. Great great weekend, and I'll do a big ole post about it later this week when I have my photos to include. All you need to know for now is that I successfully completed the 75 mile bike ride!

I have super exciting dinner plans for tonight which you'll have to wait until tomorrow to hear all about, but the only downside is missing out on How I Met Your Mother. I used to think this was about the worst show on TV, then I started watching it and got really into it. It's actually pretty clever and I like how it all comes together. I don't know if we'll find out the answer tonight or not (well, I won't, I'll be at dinner), but here is hoping Barney is marrying Robin. Also here is hoping dessert IS included tonight.

So much suspense!

Double Header, Double Loser

Last night was a late double header softball game. We lost both :(

But I had a sweet play at second base (and by sweet play I mean my glove happened to be in the right place at the right time...but don't tell my team that, I want everyone to think I am that good).

I'm riding in the MS City to Shore on Saturday (75 mile bike ride). As in...two days from now. Currently I am checking the weather about hourly and resting up my legs. Big pasta party for dinner tomorrow. Getting really psyched about that!!

In other news, Facebook switched up their layout. People are FREAKING. Like they do every time. And then get over it. Seriously people, take a chill pill.

I'm back

I'll give this shindig a second try.

Let me know what you think.
